Aftermarket gauges

Tue, 06/03/2008 - 07:56 |  Kingbonzmo

Hi after having read Scott's post about installing a boost gauge it got me thinking, is the boost gauge the only gauge you can connect to the vaccum hoses? I ask this because i have a blow off valve going into 1 the nxt i will follow Scott's instructions for boost gauge leaving me 1 of the three he mentioned. I have a water gauge in the car that came with it and it doesn't seem to be working so i was wondering where the hell it's supposed to be hooked up to? CHEERS Josh

BOOST GAUGE - How to install

Fri, 03/14/2008 - 19:21 |  BOOSTU

I wrote this a while ago in the Mechanical Assistance in reply to another members querie but posting it here will be a much easier reference to find. Installing a boost gauge is a really easy mod and shouldn't take you too long depending on how long it takes you to get the boost tubing through the firewall.

Ok so what you do is first decide where you want the gauge mounted. A good place is either on the drivers side A pillar or on the steering column surrounds like I have done in the pic below.

Boost Gauge Discrepencies

Tue, 02/19/2008 - 08:32 |  4cylturb

G'day.

I have just noticed that when i floor the cordia i get a reading of 10psi on the boost gauge i installed, but the factory boost gauge only reaches the 3/4 mark. I always thought the factory gauge maxes out at around 7psi.

Is this unusual? Which one is more likely telling the truth?

Any help much appreciated. Cheers.

where is the temp gauge wire?

Sun, 09/23/2007 - 22:19 |  rainman

Can anybody tell me, or better yet take a photo of where the temp gauge wire (for the dash board) joins the loom.
Mine has had an after market one ever since I bought it, but have since hooked up a second sensor and am looking to bring the dash gauge back on line.

dodgy gauge

Mon, 07/02/2007 - 07:04 |  jimi

my cordia has been doing weird things the last few days...

the oil pressure gauge has been getting lower the higher the revs are... if you cruise along in top at around 70 its fine but the faster you go the lower it reads untill it hits zeroat around 110.... the engine doesnt sound dry when the pressure is really low so i'm thinking the gauge is faulty but just to be safe i'm taking it easy... i am gonna grab a mechanical gauge and check it that way but i'm just curious if anyone has had this problem before and whats needed to fix it etc...

Aftermarket Water Temp gauge having a spazz!!

Mon, 04/02/2007 - 07:45 |  steve

I just installed my Water Temp gauge, and wired it up as it should be, it's reading the tempurature alright, BUT... when I put on the accelerator the needle goes spastic until I let off the throttle!

The gauge's power is sourced from the "Yellow ignition to ON" wire from the turbo timer, the turbo timer has a voltmeter in it...

Any tips would be good guys! 8)
