Mysterious cubical TDK electrical part in fuel pump wiring

Wed, 03/18/2009 - 18:26 |  austriancordia

Hello cordia fans,

I have a question:
Can anyone tell me the function of the cubical TDK electrical part between fuel pump and pin connector mounted directly on the fuel tank!?

Kind of "crash sensor" or "fuse"?

I removed it (direct wiring to pump) and everything seems to work properly, but I am wondering whether it might cause problems under special circumstances???

Thank you; greetz from Austria!

electrical problem (fuse keeps burning)

Thu, 04/10/2008 - 07:35 |  brissy gsrer

I wired up a radiator fan a month or so back, and it keeps burning fuses. The fan has it's own power supply running directly from the battery to the relay, from the relay to a switch in the cabin and back to the fan. It came with a fifteen amp fuse, and i went through 3 of those in 2 weeks. I put a 20 in and it lasted a week and a half, it just burned out today.

It's wired up as directed apart from instead of running to the sensor on the radiator, it runs to the switch. I only ever turn it on if i'm stuck at lights for to long and the temp goes up to half.

ELECTRICAL general information (troubleshooting)

Mon, 01/14/2008 - 05:45 |  BOOSTU

Troubleshooting

The electrical system is a 12-volt, negative ground type. Power for the lights and all electrical accessories is supplied by a lead/acid-type battery which is charged by the alternator. It should be noted that when portions of the electrical are serviced, the cable should be disconnected from the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts and/or fires.
