hi all how much is petrol in your state/town?

i think its insane and we the consumer are getting ripped off. As we all know.

and there doesnt seem a way we can protest against it either to bring prices down.

i paid $1.66 per litre for 98 octane today you put in like $30 and get 17 litres or so.

and the cheap tuesdays dont seem to be all that cheaper in sydney anymore

its pisses me right off as were paying top dollar and half the time we arent getting what we pay for well thats what my old man

told me he works at a oil refinery. god knows what these servo operators are doing to make a extra $.

anyways enough of my bitching :D

just wanted to know what you guys are paying and what your thoughts are

and take out some of my frustration. :mgun:

You guys are lucky! Our 91 octane is $1.88 per litre at the moment! 95 octane is $1.93 :(, don't even get me started on 98...

In some rural/remote areas over here they've been paying at least $2.20 per litre for 91 octane for months now, it's ridiculous.

While we are on the topic of prices, milk is another thing that has rapidly gone up in price, over here anyway. It's now cheaper to buy 3 bottles of Coke than to buy one bottle of milk....what does that tell you?? ;).

And of course with milk being the price it is, butter prices are sky-high too. Some supermarkets have stopped stocking the 1KG butter blocks simply because no-one can afford them. I opt for plain margarine now, it's healthier, not to mention a hell of alot cheaper :D.

Well today was the day (over here anyway) that 91 octane hit $2.01 a litre...The Americans complain that they're paying too much and they get it for $4.xx a gallon (3.8L).

Well, in the paper today they were talking about fuel prices sky rocketing to $1.90 a litre in around 8 weeks. It's times like these when I am thankful for the fact that myself and my car is grounded... :)

There's a guy over here who made his car run on water but he's had so many death threats etc that he's gone into hiding. I don't blame him either, he'll be the target of all the oil companies, like they're really gonna go down without a fight.

The government introduced tax cuts today, I almost had a heart attack, we haven't seen those two words in the same sentence for 9 years!! I shouldn't have got my hopes up though because if you earn 'the average' $70,000 per year income you get an extra $16 in your pocket, it's around $12 if you earn $20,000 yearly. Wow.........nine years and that's what they offer....

Put it this way, I sure as hell won't be voting for Helen Clarke this year, John Key has offered a $50 tax cut so for the time being, my vote belongs to him.

I am not totally sexist, but IMHO, a woman should not be in power. I nearly fell off my chair in laughter when I heard this statement..."If Hillary Clinton can't satisfy her husband how will she ever satisfy America"...hehehe

Here's a video I saw on the show after the news tonight, all about gas prices and how to save fuel. Pretty interesting.

Just heard on the news that the Australian government is thinking of scrapping the GST on all fuel, lucky bastards!! lol. Our government is looking at dropping the GST price from 12.5% to 10% but God knows when, more like if, that'll happen.

Shit, with petrol now $2.009nz down here I doubt I'll be heading up to palmy much anymore. What with my student pittance already stretched as it is...
That's over $100nz to fill my baby :'(
It'd be cheaper to steel it stright off the truck. Mad Max anyone?!

I haven't filled my Cordia to full in over a year, I get a sharp pain in my chest every time I do. I can't bear to give over $100 to those thieving rip off bastard oil companies. Have you guys got Gull down there?? They're generally always at least a cent cheaper.

Lol, I used $5 of 98 octane just revving my Cordia to make a video for the upcoming promo.

Anyone ever tried doing a fuel efficiency test on any of their cars??

Fuel efficency and my car doesn't fit in the same sentence! And in all honesty, i'd be too scared to mate with 700cc's. Then I noticed Andrew is about to use 800's....

Drove to adelaide from sydney about a year ago. Took the scenic route. Drove over 7000km's and i kept track of the fuel i was using. Without a working odometer i used map distances, so it's not 100% accurate, doesn't include a lot of tooing and froing, but all up, and this includes 2 runs of the great ocean road, i averaged 10.8L per 100km. That's not bad i thought, considering the way i drove.

I paid $1.75 today for 98. That's up 10c from last week.

Ahhh the memories, my dad will say, thinking back to 1968, when he got a full tank for $7.

even if we think back to 98 when it was under $1.00 a litre would be good

7000km's...? Seeing as Adelaide to Sydney is ~1500km's, you didn't happen to take a detour through Darwin along the way? Having said that, if that were the case, it wouldn't be scenic... :)

I guess in a way it's all relative to a certain extent as $7 could buy you a hell of a lot more back in 1968. Was this $7 consumed by the likes of a Mini cooper or an E49 Charger?
