Hi all, I have started my 2.3 VR4 conversion, a BIG thanks to Raff for donating the engine, after dismantling the engine was in top nick, I believe it had only travelled 40,000 km...............anyway here's some pics.

This thing will decimate all.......once I've put another fifteen grand into it!
Cheers, Keep you all updated.............this is going to cost HEAPS...................just don't tell the wife.
or i'll be this... ![]()
Aw oh, spending big bucks without consulting the wife....better start digging your grave now haha. Will look forward to the updates
Good upgrade. What brand of pistons are you going to use and are you going to use the factory rods? Let us know how this goes including rough pricing if possible because I would like to do this to my Starion.
I'll be looking for modified forged pistons to suit the conversion, as for the rods....no, i'll get some beefier ones........a little like this: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOMEI-EVO-1-9-4G63-2-3-Kit-MITSUBISHI-86MM_W0QQit... I want some serious power this time..............including a 100 HP of NOS..........looking for 500HP or above.
Wow are you going to get a full kit like that or just rods?
Looking at the FULL kit...............I'll gladly pay the $5000.............saves me time and money looking for the parts.
Woah, you weren't kidding when you said it was going to cost heaps! Sounds like this things going to be a beast. What are you going to do with your current engine??
Looking at putting it in a RE Colt.
Bitza wrote:Looking at putting it in a RE Colt. Firstly, have I (we) told you we love you?! Secondly, damn you work fast! Looks like you aint wasting any time which is fantastic, and putting this motor in a colt is almost like a dream come true for me!

Token Italian and all round bastard...
p.s andy, is it true that standard VR4 rods are forged? you've got them out so i guess you can put an end to this debate once and for all ey!
No Raff, the VR4 rods are not forged, they are cast.
sounds like you're going to put that signature of yours into action... can't wait to see what the outcome brings, best of luck with the build

Cheers guys.
It keeps getting better and better! Can't wait to see it, hope everything goes to plan with no real dramas ![]()
I dont know what i want to see more badly... Australia's most powerful and fastest Cordia in flesh or the ultimate Colt? Mmmmm decisions decisions
Colt Colt Colt Colt go the Colt
be nice to have someone to share ideas with if you do the conversion, and of course a big engine in a little car
Settle down guys...................I haven't even purchased a Colt yet.
Lol yeah, jumping the gun a little bit. Hope you find one in the same condition as your Stazza (Starion) currently is.
colt colt colt
The colt is the best car for the VR4.........light weight and bang for buck. The QLD guys put stock ones in them and run 11's..........imagine mine modified.......maybe 10's?
Do you have a daily driver, if you do I feel real sorry for it. I mean after driving bitza as it is now for a weekend, you'd have to drive anything else flat to the floor to get any form of satisfaction. After this powerhouse transplant, may god bless the roads you drive on
So Bitza, what turbo will you have to assist with the 2.3 litre engine, seeing as your going to have a big spec vr4 2.3 litre, i would presume you wont have a t3/4 turbo.
Are you going to get a gt35/40 or what.
second that one!
Im looking at a T88 turbo............why not?
Sorry have to disagree here. Show me some proof that the conrods are a casting.
good god man, will you cut a hole in the bonnet for it
TD06 25G wouldn't be a bad choice
No Brissy, the mod should be fine.
Coop1er, just look at the photo........the rods are cast.

Wicked, 2.3L sounds beefy
. Best of luck with the conversion mate
