A resolution of 2880x900. Dimensions equivalent to two 24" widescreen monitors standing end-to-end. DLP rear projection on a curved screen, with OLED illumination. An insignificant .02ms response time.

Minnnnnnt, if only I had the money.... Bit of a bummer that it's rear projection, I'd still buy one tho! :)

Alienware is looking to lure gamers deeper into their computer game experience.

The company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dell, has been showing off a curved-gaming monitor this week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Not scheduled to ship until the second half of this year, the monitor is the equivalent of a 24-in. model, except this one is no regular screen.

"It's the first time you're really able to play a game where you're looking at the center of the screen, but your peripheral vision is taken into account," said Bryan Dezayas, a spokesman for Alienware, which is branding and marketing the monitor for its developer and manufacturer, Ostendo Technologies "You see more of the content of the game than someone would with a regular screen. Sometimes, you see something out of the corner of your eye that draws your attention. It's a complete advantage for the gamer."

The monitor, which Dezayas said can also be used for video editing, bypasses LCD screens and uses Digital Light Processing rear-projection technology, which is often used in televisions. It also has a native resolution of 2880 by 900, and a response time of less than .02 milliseconds.

Dezayas noted that Alienware is showing a prototype of the monitor at CES. Pricing is not set, though the company is targeting US$4,000 to US$5,000, he said.

"The huge benefit is how immersed a gamer becomes in the experience," he said. "Some gamers try using two or three monitors. The thing with that is it's not a seamless experience, and you could be missing a lot that's happening in between the monitors. ... This [curved monitor] gives you a whole different experience."

Lol yea, for that price I'd much rather have a 60" LCD TV, doubles as a computer screen aswell.

That's US dollars too, so around $8000. Could buy a MINT Cordia for that ;)

Haha that sounds like something I would do

4G63t build... found this on youtube, thought i'd pop it here since it's not going into a cordia. seems pretty basic except you don't get to see him having all the hassle of aligning everything

Check this out, an original key which some Starions came out with from factory. Flash huh?? The auction for the car states,

Quote:
It comes with original GOLD key as shown in pics.

Whether it's gold or not is a good question but it sure does look it. Bitza, did your Starion come with one of these by any chance?? Or did you pawn it off already?? :D.

Unfortunately my Starion came with a normal key.

Still has the black top but with Starion embosed in it.

Sweet, you wouldn't see that coming from the factory nowadays :).

Here's a pic of one of the logos:

holy that key looks intricate, surely it wouldn't be solid gold though, it would be to soft and wear out, gold plated perhaps... or stingy gold paint

i all for being a twit in a car when your on your own but doing shit like that with people in the car and on crowded roads is just insane... how would you feel if you took out a car and killed people.... but then life over there doesnt seem to have the menaing we put on it!

on a side note.. they must run a really hard tyre compound.. that would blow normal tyres in no time

the cars look like they cop a fair beating as well, i'm surprised i didn't see any suspension components snap and fall apart. i seen one drift/burnout video where the car full opposite locks, it bounces and the wheel folds under the car

Haha look up Arab accidents and you'll see all sorts of mania. There's wheels snapping off, cars flipping, sliding into other cars etc etc.

Bear in mind that most of the cars they use are FWD!! :), my hat goes off to them. All in the name of fun, and I think if I was living in fear of a suicide bomber blowing the place up I'd be living that crazy aswell 8).
