Hi guys i've been browsing these forums for a while but never registered.
My name's Tim from western suburbs of melbourne.
Currently working on a VR4 cordia. I'm happy with the power output etc. I'm just trying to make her look good. With bodykit, Custom bonnet etc etc. Which i'm planning to finish painting very soon, just in airdrying 2pak Mazda Chaste White.
Also have my first cordia which died on me along time ago still sitting in my backyard with a 2L SOHC which i'll be planning to get back on the road after i finish the vr4. Which you can see in my backyard with google earth LoL.
Looking forward to meeting you guys, hopefully on cruises n stuff after i finish one of my cordia's
I'll post up pics soon.

Tim.

Guys I haven't updated this as much as I would have wanted to:
As some of you may know I'm in the process of painting the car and building a bodykit for it too.
But now I'm also in the process of doing a reverse turbo setup using an e4 td05hr/e5 exhaust mani/e8 MR dump pipe. Reason i'm doing this is to try something different on a budget..
Also some new goodies will be going on the car: 17" BuddyClub P1 and e2 Recaro SR2's

Slightly bigger turbo compared to the small 16g I have.

The bodykit that i'm putting on hold for now til I paint the car. No front bar still.

And the goodies awaiting for a cordia to be finished lol..

Stay tuned guys coz i'm now fed up with not having driven a cordia for 2 years. I'll be working on this flat out from now on since summer is now officially over..

Loving it mate looks great so far. Go the white cordia's, Loving the rims too, personally i love a white car with white rims! Can i ask exactly what size, width and offset they are? I ask as im currently lookling for a decent set of 18's and want to know the largest width i can squeeze on with the lowest offset.

Cheers Adam

Thanx for the comments guys, i'll be rubbing back the car now and get it ready for paint in Chaste White (current Mazda white) in 2 pack.. Will be sprayed in my garage. Plus putting clear on top. I know i know white cars usually wouldn't have a clear but after coming back from the motor show I realised new new cars had clear over white.
The recaro's are currently in my bedroom, good for playing GT4..
Plysha: The BuddyClub P1 rims are in 17x7 with +35 offset (i know a lil off, better to have +38-40). Just clears the rear but i'll be folding the rear lip with my heat gun later.
And when I say no bodykit I mean no guards with the commodore sidevents or evo 3 bonnet. These will all be sprayed the same time as the kit later on. I've got too many spare panels lol..

Jaime yeah everything will be different as the approach i'm taking this time. Jayrome will only help me with the hard things I can't do. And yes.. drop by anytime.. not anytime soon tho lol.. i work slow on cars..

Anyways, the list of items on my car that makes it almost a full evolution lol, not much cordia..
1: JAPspec VR4 4G63BT
2: evo 1: Front hubs (like it matters lol) & Bonnet vents.
3: evo 2: Recaro SRII (currently using when playing GT4)
4: evo 3: Fibreglass frontbar (still deciding to buy or not from a mate)
5: evo 4: TD05HR (won on ebay for $36, the reason why I'm doing the reverse setup)
6: evo 5: i'm trying to think of something from this car..
7: evo 6: BREMBO brakes (coming soon when i can afford it, from a mate)
8: evo 7: Wastegate actuator (turbo i bought didn't have it and i got this for free)
9: evo 8: E8 MR dump pipe (i don't know diff from a normal e8)
10: evo 9: exhaust manifold (ausspec= no antilag. From a mate for free)
11: 3000GT front calipers - that i've just sold.

Things to come: Aluminium Radiator, 550cc injectors, Hotside cooler setup.

Lol well yeah, I grew up with Jayrome we're family friends. But yes his car is a bloody transformer as his dad calls it. He's always been into DIY as his dad's an engineer, plus he works at bunnings for now LOL..
The only thing I really want him to do on my car is to slap on the VR4 K frame rear end he has, to my car. Drive line and all hahaha..
About changing my plates? only when/IF my car becomes 4WD.

You could always go for a similar setup as a GTS4 Skyline and you could go from 4WD and RWD at the flick of a switch . Not sure how possible this would be on a Cordia but would certainly be an intersting mod.

Don't quote me but I think it was only the GTR that had this function cos it had HICAS standard. To switch it from 4WD to RWD you'd need an electro-hydraulic actuated transfer case to send all the torque to the rear end, sorta like what the Lancia Integrales had but to a more extreme extent.

Nah bro definately the GTS4, my mate has had two of them. I've never seen a GTR with this capability.

I wasn't referring to HICAS mate, I'm referring to the fuse you take out which switches it from 4WD to RWD. My mate got it hooked up to a in-cabin switch on both of his Skylines. Was awesome for wet days

This is info about HICAS from wikipedia:

Quote:
HICAS (High Capacity Actively Controlled Suspension) is Nissan's rear wheel steering system found on cars ranging from the more recent Skyline and Z iterations to smaller models like the Nissan Cefiro (A31), 240SX/180SX and Nissan Serena/Nissan Largo. It is also found on models from Nissan's Infiniti division, such as the Q45 and the M45/M35. Unlike other four wheel steering systems, HICAS and Super HICAS is fitted to improve handling rather than as a parking aid.

Earlier HICAS versions used hydraulics to steer the rear wheels. The hydraulic system was powered by the power steering pump and used speed sensors to determine how much and which direction to steer the rear wheels. Later versions, called Super HICAS, moved to an electric actuator for the rear steering rack, making the system much lighter. The Super HICAS system also used its own computer to control the system instead of speed sensors. HICAS and Super HICAS rear wheel steering is limited to about 1 degree in either direction.

HICAS was introduced on the 1986 Skyline GTS coupes (GTS, GTS-R, and GTS-X). The system was later adapted to work on many models in the Nissan range, beginning with the Passage GT.

I should also add that there is one GTR that does have this capability, the R32 only. If it has the same ATESSA system as the R32 GTR then you just pull the fuse. If you do get it to work you can put it in 2WD while you are moving but to put it back into 4WD you must be stopped.
The R33 GTR ATESSA system required you to take the front drive shafts out as well as pulling the fuse.

Only R32 GTS-4 and R32 GTRs can be made RWD by taking out the ATESSA fuse or fitting an on/off ATESSA switch. R33 / R34 need the shafts removed etc as the 4WD system is different. The benefit of buying a R32 GTS-4 is the gearbox is much stronger then a R32 GTS-T box and if you pull the fuse its RWD.

Lol you guys are funny.. as far as i know it's both models as i see in my DVDs. HiOctane 4 shows the GTS4 with the GTR engine.
Don't think it'll be possible with the mitsubishi layout at all tho.
Right now i'm rubbing my car back as every panel is straight as. Hopefully ready to paint during the easter weekend.. If not i'mma give up on this.. jk.. AS IF!!??

Guys I just picked up my E9 manifold which a friend gave me. But i've just hit a clearance issue. Thought this would happen.
Both the powersteering pump and alternator are in the way of the compressor side. i've just bent the dip stick too.
Does anyone know where I can get manifold flanges?
Especially the manifold to turbo one? Keep in mind i'm using an evo 4 TD05HR turbo.

Damn, that's no good. Any stainless steel fabricator should be able to supply you with a manifold flange. Check out a few automotive engineers and hopefully they should be able to help 8).

I've put both the turbo setup and bodykit on hold. The car was so ready to be sprayed but the other day i opened the paint and was hard a fcuk!, but i still had 2L in another can. I then went to the paint place to get more but apparently they couldn't tint the paint coz they ran outta paint to use.. Yeah i know, a paint shop ran outta paint?? LOL. But they gave me a discount on the paint but can't I paint until sometime this week. I guess i'll take a day off this week to paint.. hehe..
I'll update this as soon as I paint it. I'm talking shit coz i just got home from clubbing.. Lol..
