We're now working on creating a new video gallery for our members, but unfortunately the only way we can do this is to transfer our entire website to another web server. Approximately 1.5GB of data and 2 large databases... So I will begin backing up files from the server, the site shouldn't slow down at all, but just be warned that it could be affected. Website access should not be affected until I transfer the domain to our new server, which is nothing of anyones concern. Once I've transferred the site to our new server, we'll be able to upload videos straight to the site and have them converted to a flash format (just like YouTube).

I'm already using this technology in one of my other websites, http://www.yelnah.com ; so feel free to have a look if you're interested. Expect the entire process to take some weeks to complete, as our current server performs much slower than the newer one and downloading the directories will take some time. I'll post a notice and link to this post, so you can keep track on the process, talk soon guys.

currently awaiting a better Internet connection, then I'll work on transferring this forum over... If I proceed to do it under this connection, it will surely timeout and screw up the site... I know you guys have been more than patient, but I haven't forgotten about it!

We'll be new, improved, and running under 1 forum as soon as it's possible!

Cheers for the support, and I'll be in touch!

ok guys, after evaluating our recent poll and noted issues pertaining to speed, reliability and a high rate of user dissatisfaction; I have decided to move CordiaFREAKS to Hanley Designs hosting servers, which are Australian based and managed, thus increasing the site's speed and will help resolve the frequent errors currently experienced on the current USA based servers.

To serve you guys better, I aim to make this changeover in September 2010, you can expect 24 hours of down-time while the domain, and data are transferred over, but I will advise everyone well in advance before this takes place.

Cheers again for all your support,

Steve

Yeah it will cost a little extra, since you've asked, I've put the donations button on the homepage. It shows a total amount for the monthly expense of the site, and also shows an up-to-date donations balance, including a donations button. cool Donations are certainly welcome and any excess of funds can go toward further website improvements over and above the regular running costs! (e.g. special functions development etc..)

Cheers Andrew, I forgot about that handy little button! haha

Cheers Andrew, very much appreciated! I should mention that there's a 3.5% merchant fee for PayPal processing, so the balance will be slightly less than donated, kind of sucks but I guess that's how PayPal make their money! LOL

I've added a disclosure to the bottom of the button to advise of this. Thanks again man.

Hey bloke, if you'd like to donate parts to the site, you can send them to:

Steve Hanley
PO Box 132
BLYTH SA 5462

If you wish to donate any large parts that may be more suitable for courier, please contact me at: admin@cordiafreaks.com and I'll supply you with an alternative delivery address. All parts donated will be available for sale and all profits goto the donation balance on the homepage to help improve the site and provide merchandise etc...

All donations are very much appreciated... I have some small 30cm CordiaFREAKS computer cut stickers (I'll have to find them first), and also have black base-ball caps too... Stickers are $5.00 each and caps $15.00

Cheers bloke, hope this helps!cool

Cheers bro, I've been transferring files all day... Currently got the gallery uploading... nearly 6000 files to go.

Fixed that time-zone issue we spoke about, and also fixed a Google Analytics issue that was bringing out a bug with user profiles. We're running on a newer version of PHP, so some things have needed to be adjusted. So far so good! cool

Hopefully the gallery will be back online tonight!
