Hi everyone,

In 2006,2008 my Cordia was valued at $3,000 by Turner's auction.

May this year they said it was worth $2,000.In the engine bay was a rusty airflow meter cannister so presentation was poor.

The car has done 236,000km.An  engine that was said to be reconditioned  and my    gearbox was reconditioned at the 200,000km mark.Clutch at 181,000km .There  are parts like a heavy duty never crack exhaust manifold and in 2006 A new pipe between the air flow meter box and turbo went in.There are heaps of new parts.Just on the 1st of October a new water pump went in.

The car is a 1984 ,G62B,A213A GT.

In the 2009 unique cars value guide they thought a condition 2 car was worth $3,000.

I know parts will be an issue.

What do you reckon?

cheers

No,I was just hoping if I had a prang the insurance company would take care of it.

I now think if a dreaded crash happened I would have to make the decision whether to buy the car back off the insurance company and get it fixed at my expense.

I really love my car.Gee,I hope I never have a crash.

All insurance companies would write them off for the smallest accident..........as parts are no longer available.

I have seen them in wrecking yards with small dents/broken headlights written off..................that's good news for me.............more spares!

Hi everyone,

My Cordia was looking nice in the shed and I thought bugger it.

I rang Allkars and they said they did car valuations for insurance purposes.

The car is now insured for $3,000 instead of $1,910.

I feel better.

Bit of a story ,here.

When I took the  Cordia in for a  warrant of fitness the inspectors got me to rev the motor and said it was smoking pretty bad.

Derek ,from Sell's itself, called out give you $50 for it.

My insurance comes  up in April.

I rang Derek and  said my Cordia wasn't worth, was it?

After a bit of a discussion I mentioned Allkars had valued it at $3,000.

Derek said ,well, if I wanted to replace it if it got stolen it would cost $3,000 to replace it so leave the insurance as is.And one day the car might be collectable.

I am happy.

cheers
