The cordia has been stalling all the time, even after setting the TPS many times... I topped up the oil and since then it appears to have fixed it self! Is there something that may cause the engine to stall if the oil is gettin down??? From memory, this may have been what corrected the same issue a couple of years ago too!

Very strange! Any ideas would be great!

Yeah that's what I reckon... But I've replaced the TPS, ISC and ECU... Keep setting the TPS and always falls over. Not sure what I'm doing wrong hey! lol

I had this problem with another cordia...........after months of testing it ended up being a bad battery/chassis earth..............maybe run another wire from the body to the block or from the battery to the chassis.

Now that you mention it, there's an earth wire right next to the battery that goes to the chassis that's concerned me for a while... I'll replace that and see how it goes! Cheers man! ;)

Okay, I replaced the main grounding wire to the battery with that large one you gave me Andrew! Thanks man... looks heaps neater with just one cable instead of three pissy little ones! lol

Still stalling when pressing the clutch though, I haven't set the TPS yet... but wondering if you reckon that the boost leak I've got in the crossover pipe would be giving it reason to stall??? If so, is there any point trying to set the TPS before fixing the leak?

Cheers heaps!

If you have a leak in the crossover pipe and the airflow meter is connected, the ECU will run rich causing stalling due to overfueling...........fix the leak.........you may not have to reset the TPS.

Well I've booked the cordia in to get a new dump-pipe and crossover pipe made up for the 10th March... Might see if I can buy a compressor outlet from somewhere, it could probably be welded up, but might aswell buy a good one!

okay I had the hole in the compressor outlet repaired, wasn't quite blown through yet thank goodness! :)

I was wondering if there's a chance the car might be stalling due to a faulty temperature sensor or loos connector on a sensor??? What do ya think? cheers

PS: This is the exact same problem I had back in 2006, see here: http://www.cordiapower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11569&start=0

I just ordered a new set of injectors from the USA, I'll get in touch with you to grab those seals too Andrew...

I was wondering, you know how my car has been stalling weird for ages... What are the chances it was the injectors doing it???

Hey I got my injectors in the mail today! :) This is everything that came with it... I've been informed that I don't need any other seals or gaskets, cheers Andrew! :) I've never taken injectors out before so we'll see how I go! hehe

Okay, so after a bit of confusion regarding fitting the injectors, as they're about 1cm longer than the original ones, we figured out the there was a rubber seal beneath each of the old injectors (which we took out and replaced with the new ones), then installed the spacers that came with the kit, so it all worked out well... doesn't appear to leak, and the exhaust smells different now too (not so rich)... However only running on 3 cylinders still, it tried to run on 4 but didn't hold (even after cleaning the plugs)... There's a little sprinkle of fuel coming out the exhaust, but I put that down to the 1 cylinder that isn't firing... I'm pretty sure number 3 plug is stuffed. Will try to get some new ones this week!

Thanks Andrew, yeah it was actually plug 2 that had a problem... Runs REALLY well now! Tries to break loose in 2nd gear, just the way I like it! I'll take some pics hopefully tomorrow of the install, it's actually one of the easiest fixes I've done with regards to how simple it is to change over!!!

Here's some pics of the new injectors installed.

Okay, I took the car out for a drive this morning and at first it refused to idle... I had to restart it about 4 times and hold the revs up for it to keep running... about 3 minutes later it seemed to remember that it had a job to do, although it did keep searching for idle!

I thought I'd check the ECU for errors and got the following:

- - - 3 (Airflow Meter)

- - - - 4 (Boost/MAP Sensor)

- 1 (Oxygen Sensor)

I'm a bit confused by what this is telling me, as I have already replaced the AFM 3 times from memory because the ECU always tells me there's error 3, so I'm doubtful it's that. Any ideas? cheers

Remove the earth cable from the battery to clear the error codes...........then check again once cable reinstalled.

Okay, I've done that and is having trouble idling at all (approximately 3 mins after starting the engine, then it levels out) AFM error seems to have dropped off and now only getting the following...

- - - - 4 (Boost/MAP Sensor)

- 1 (Oxygen Sensor)

You don't know if having the yellow wire cut would cause this???

Here's a photo of how it's set up, there's a vacant plug there (1 wire with 1 spade)... not sure what it's for???

I can clearly see your yellow wire is cut..............this will give an error code, you should have an electronic defender between those, that way your boost meter will function as normal, put the wire back together...............as for the plug I'm not sure.....It's been a while.

I'll keep checking.

Thanks Andrew, it's been cut for about 3 years, I'll solder it back together.

Alright, I've reconnected the yellow wire, and reconnected the battery, there's only 1 error now.

- 1 (oxygen sensor)

I didn't think cordias ran an oxygen sensor??? I tried running it, still stalls, probably need to set the TPS too.

Is your car leaded or unleaded?

leaded - had a look and couldn't see any oxygen sensors on the exhaust.

You replaced your ECU a couple of months ago............sounds like it's an unleaded one............does your original ECU still work?

the original ECU is long gone... I sold most of my parts before I moved to Whyalla... You reckon the ECU isn't setting the TPS because it can't detect an oxygen sensor?
