For all of you who MAY need to replace the cordia box here is a quick update:

The TR-TS magna box or Proton Satria MAY fit the cordia.

So far I have installed the TR-TS box onto a narrow block VR4.

The only problem is the cordia passenger side CV won't clear the block...........time for equal length drive.

The stater motor now has to throw out another 15mm, which will need to be a magna reduction drive unit.

I'll keep you updated on progress.

HEY! just remembered something... that 5THSIN Cordia had a TR-TS magna box in his car right?

I wonder how he hooked that up to Evo 3.
your solving another mystery for us there Andrew, nice one chief.yes

By the way, might i ask why your changing gearboxes.
Surely your box is still good, right? did you kill it? hahahaindecision

No Brad the box is still in the car...........just doing some research until mine actually "explodes" due to torque.

Spent today down at u-pull-it........looked a may mitsubishis and Hyundais...........even though many run the FM21 I finally bought some stuff off of a NA nimbus.

The NA nimbus gearbox mount fits the KM210 but sits a little high, but is in the right location for the cordia at 310mm from the edge of the bellhousing, 15mm less.

The length of the magna shifter cables has me worried as they look too long............nimbus cables might be better suited.

But after a quick mockup it looks like the TR-TS box will fit with the inner guard cut to allow the extra 15mm.

Hey Andrew, i had a little question about gearboxes while your doing this thing...

You know how Cordia gear boxes have shorter ratios than say, an Evo 3 box.
How is acceleration affected and how are torque and Horsepower levels changed by different sized gears etc?

My guess is shorter gearing produces more acceration and torque figures right?
Maybe i'm barking up the wrong tree laugh

logicly thats correct. :)

And proof is one of my cordias has the Power shift Gearbox.

essentually its a 4 speed with a 2 speed diff gear. Has a Hi and a Low range.
Putting it in low range makes it Accell allot faster off the mark :P
